     SVR-Tour's home is the farm-to-table restaurant Cucumber in Suzdal. It is a haven for locavores, as all the ingredients used in the Cucumber kitchen are purchased from farmers within a 150 kilometer radius. We know each and every one of our suppliers, and applaud their insistence on understanding and working with the natural rhythms and patterns of the earth.

     The Guest Culinary Studio is open to anyone. You don't need to know your way around the kitchen; an interest in exploring new tastes and techniques is all that's required. Master Class: Pelmeni and Vareniki


      Nothing beats a homemade dumpling. But eating them is just half the fun! Learn to make them the Russian way, with family and friends gathered together in the kitchen to roll up their sleeves and knead, roll, mix, roll out, and sculpt, sculpt, sculpt. We'll teach your the optimum ratio of dough to stuffing, and share the secret of keeping cherry juice inside the dumpling.

On the menu: Siberian pelmeni and vareniki with cherries, plus cucumber lemonade, cucumber salad and ohurtsivka.

₽ Participation fee: up to 5 persons – 2,500 rubles per person.

up to 15 people – 1,800 rubles per person






Master Class:  Traditional Russian Hearty Salad


     A classic Russian dish made to a recipe from the 1700's.


■: Ingredients: ham, poached duck breast, boiled beef, boiled potatoes, boiled beets, pickled apples, cucumbers, mushrooms, marinated mushrooms, prunes, dried cherries, apple cider vinegar, salt, olive oil, mustard.

Introduction from Chef – 5 minutes (a history of vinaigrette, knife safety, food prep)

■ Group readies the ingredients while the chef talks about the history of Russian cuisine - 20 minutes

■ Once everything has been assembled, the kitchen supplies the finishing touches.

Master Class: Cucumber Jam




Cucumber jam is a Russian classic, often enjoyed with tea and blinis.


In this master class you will make cucumber jam from scratch. While it cools you can design and personalize the jars to create an unusual but delicious gastronomic souvenir to take home with you.

Master Class: Horseradish Sauce, A Russian Favorite



     The best Russian horseradish sauce is made right at the table, to ensure the spicy-sharp flavors are at their peak. (They disappear almost completely after a day or two.) You can experiment with different ingredients (e.g. cranberries, beets, tomatoes) to find the flavor provile that suits you best. The finished sauce will then be bottled, and you can personalize the packaging for a unique souvenir unavailable anywhere else in the world.

     As a locavore farm-to-table restaurant, we know our suppliers – heroes in today's era of globalization. Upon request we can arrange for you to visit some of the farmers, and talk to the farmers about how they work with nature rather than trying to tame it.
